反身代名詞用來表示主詞與受詞為同一人或同一物：myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves
•
可作受詞或介系詞賓語，也可用來強調「某人親自」完成動作

常見片語：enjoy oneself（玩得開心）、help oneself to 名詞（自取）、by oneself（獨自）

易錯點：與 each other 混淆、錯把反身代名詞當主詞、身體部位要用所有格

基本公式

主詞 + 動詞 + 反身代名詞
主詞與受詞為同一人/物。對應：I→myself, you→yourself/yourselves, he→himself, she→herself, it→itself, we→ourselves, they→themselves
範例：
He hurt himself while playing basketball.
他打籃球時傷到自己。
主詞 + 動詞 + 受詞 + 介系詞 + 反身代名詞
反身代名詞作介系詞的賓語（for, to, with 等）
範例：
He kept the last cookie for himself.
他把最後一塊餅乾留給自己。
主詞 + be 動詞 + 形容詞 + 介系詞 + 反身代名詞
形容詞後接介系詞片語時，反身代名詞作賓語
範例：
She is proud of herself.
她為自己感到驕傲。
主詞 + 反身代名詞 + 動詞 + 受詞
強調主詞「親自」做（強調用法）
範例：
I myself cleaned the classroom.

help oneself to + 名詞＝「自行取用」
範例：
You can help yourself to some fruit.
你可以自己拿些水果。
主詞 + take care of + 反身代名詞
表示「照顧自己」
範例：
You should take care of yourself.
你應該照顧好自己。

常見錯誤

主詞與受詞為同一人時，要用反身代名詞作受詞。

My mom taught myself English.

主詞（mom）與受詞（me）不同，不可用反身代名詞。

Myself am not ready.

反身代名詞不能作主詞；主詞要用主格代名詞。

He washed himself face.

身體部位前用所有格形容詞（his/her），不用反身代名詞 + 名詞。

They looked at themselves.（想表達互相看）

表達「互相」用 each other/one another；themselves 表示看著自己（如照鏡子）。

反身代名詞需與「數與性」一致；單數 child 用 himself 或 herself（考試以此為主）。

表示「獨自」要用 by + 反身代名詞。

強調用法的位置：放在主詞之後（I myself...）或句尾（... myself），不能夾在動詞與受詞之間。

vs. 互相代名詞 each other / one another

反身代名詞表示「自己」，主詞與受詞同一人；互相代名詞表示「彼此」，主詞的成員互相作用。
