文法摘要
•
wh- 引導的名詞子句可作主詞、受詞、補語或介系詞的受詞，子句內用陳述語序
•
常見 wh- 有 what/where/when/who/why/how，也可用 wh- + to 不定詞表「要如何/去哪裡」
•
常接在 know, think, ask, tell, show, wonder 等動詞之後
•
名詞子句不是問句：不用 do/does/did 倒裝，也不用疑問號
•
wh- 可當子句主詞或受詞，子句內主詞與時態要完整
基本公式
主詞 + 動詞(認知/想法) + wh- 疑問詞 + 主詞 + 動詞
子句採陳述語序，不用助動詞倒裝
範例：

I know where he lives.
我知道他住在哪裡。
主詞 + 動詞(想知道/猜測) + wh- 疑問詞(作子句主詞) + 動詞
wh- 本身作子句主詞，如 who/what
範例：
We wonder who broke the window.
我們想知道是誰打破了窗戶。
主詞 + 動詞(告知/展示) + 受詞 + wh- 疑問詞 + 主詞 + 動詞
範例：
Please tell me when the movie starts.
請告訴我電影何時開始。
wh- 子句(作主詞) + be 動詞 + 補語/名詞
範例：
What you need is rest.
你需要的是休息。
主詞 + be 動詞 + wh- 疑問詞 + 主詞 + 動詞(名詞子句作補語)
範例：
The question is where we should meet.
問題是我們該在哪裡見面。
主詞 + 動詞 + 介系詞 + wh- 疑問詞 + 主詞 + 動詞
範例：
I am thinking about how we can help.
我正在想我們要如何幫忙。
主詞 + 動詞(不知道/決定/教) + wh- 疑問詞 + to 不定詞
表示「要如何/要做什麼/去哪裡」
範例：

我不知道要做什麼。
常見錯誤

I don't know where does he live.

名詞子句用陳述語序，不做 do/does/did 倒裝。

I know that where he lives.

that 與 wh- 不能同時引導同一個名詞子句；刪掉多餘的 that。

名詞子句需完整主詞與動詞；補上 it 作子句主詞。

間接問句是陳述句，用句號，不用疑問號（除非直接引號內是原問句）。

子句內動詞時態一次就好；簡單過去式用 broke，不要再加助動詞 did。

wh- + to 不定詞不可省略 to。

why 通常不用在 wh- + to 不定詞；改用完整子句表原因。
相似文法比較
vs. if/whether 引導的名詞子句
if/whether 表「是否/是或不是」，用於是非題；wh- 表具體資訊（什麼、哪裡、何時等）。兩者皆用陳述語序。介系詞後與 to 不定詞前通常用 whether，不用 if。
